ABOUT US

Brand New Wave Cares is a 501(c)3 community-based organization serving Richmond, VA and surrounding areas with the purpose of serving, educating, mentoring, and aspiring African American youth/young adults.

One of Brand New Wave Cares’ most notable initiatives is the annual RVA Ball For A Cause charity basketball game. Since launching the event in 2016, BNW Cares has hosted four successful installments, raising financial resources to support youth through school supply distributions, essential service giveaways, and community-centered programming.

At the core of our mission is the belief that social justice begins with economic justice. Brand New Wave Cares is committed to educating, empowering, and inspiring the next generation by increasing access to essential resources, creative opportunities, and supportive services for youth and families.

As our work has grown, Brand New Wave Cares has expanded its operations to Georgia, where we are actively serving communities across multiple counties. Our flagship program, Sponsor A Service For A Kid, provides youth with access to essential services by partnering with schools, churches, and community organizations to remove barriers and meet immediate needs.

Today, BNW Cares continues to develop and scale community-based programs that strengthen families, engage youth, and build pathways toward long-term stability and opportunity across Georgia.

We do this by raising awareness experienced by the youth in the Richmond city area and empowering them through our internship, mentorship, and programs. We believe social justice begins with economic justice. We also believe change starts with our young people. Our duty is to educate them and give them the resources needed to evoke change.
